If you took the time to call the truck stops you were going through on Thanksgiving you would have found that many were doing T-giving dinner. Also, a few of them were free to CDL holders. I stopped at the Gear Jammer in Salt Lake City and enjoyed a free dinner w/ pie. If your in SLC next T-giving stop in for free dinner.

Unfortunately many truck drivers complain for the sake of complaining. I have found that there are many major truck stops out there that care a great deal about there facility and truckers. If you find something wrong, get a manager and tell them so it can be fixed instead of just getting mad and complaining on the boards. I always let the manager or 800 number know if there are problems. I also let them know if I find things extraordinary.

Boise stage stop had a free turkey dinner and raffle gifts. And from what I hear it was a very good meal.

if you people would stay out of the crap chain truck stops you may have a different experience

My husband is a truck driver and this was his first Thanksgiving home in years. We made 30+ meals in styrafoam meal containers (filled with turkey, stuffing, homemade mashed potatoes with skins and turkey gravy, green bean casserole and candied yams) and delivered them to drivers on Thanksgiving at our local truck stops in Ardmore, Oklahoma. We plan on doing this again at Christmas, Easter and Independence day for any drivers stuck for the holidays at the truck stops. I am trying to encourage other truck drivers wives and families or churches/organizations
to do this in their local areas as well.
