Ok are there any truck stops that offer holiday meals while we are on the road? We are going home for Christmas which means more to us then Thanksgiving.

20+ years ago, the TAs used to serve free Thanksgiving dinners to CDL holders. I think it was sponsered by JB Hunt. Don't know if they still do it, however.

All the buffet type restaurants like Golden Corral and Hometown buffet will be open for turkey dinner meals. Some truck stops that have buffets like T/A or Petro will serve up turkey also.

Some truck stops will, some wont. Best idea is to call ahead before getting there.

Was wondering if anyone had any insight/information on rest stops and highway restaurants that will be catering to on-the-road truckers for the long Thanksgiving weekend.

Would love to pass along this information as part of a blog article for where to grab a nice meal.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this thread.

    Happy Holidays!

if you're talking "free meals" i think you got the wrong people...
truckers will usually pay for their meals as per usual at the truck stops and roadside cafe's and restaurants. truck stops don't usually serve anything free but the water at the water bubbler.

the only "slightly possible" event would be a scouting troop or some other "charity" setting up roadside coffee break spots....serving free coffee and maybe some donuts, but then, "charity" usually means a donation too doesn't it...????
