Worst Showers

Knew it would happen with Pilot guideance.

Just thought it would take longer.

 

I'm really surprised at the poll results showing TA being the worst. I've not found a bad shower at a TA yet since I started back on the road. Even the ones down south, which used to leave a whole lot to be desired, have been spotless.

 

Most TAs are like the old 76s they have milked the truckers for 20+ years not so much as repave the lot let alone paint or remodel hire people that couldn't get out of the 8th grade to clean new pilots are ok but I rather shower at our yards at 0300 just after a forener just got done cleaning.

 

On this subject, my mother and I used to have to post men at the door, just so we could take a shower.

You know they used to be group showers, right?

I dont know what TA and Petro's you guys/gals go to but I have never had an issue with the showers...The day I have to fuel/shower at a pilot or a loves is the day I hang my keys up. You should always wear sandals in the showeres regardless of how clean you think it is...Pilot washes their shower floors with the dirty mop water of the previous 20 showers its claeaned out....Hope that foot fungus feels good LOL

 

I can't think of one brand of ts that is better or worse. It's which one where ever that doesn't clean them or provide a decent shower facility that i refuse to go to. I've had both good and bad Petro's, TA's, Pilot's and a mixture of others. The one i like the best is Trexlers on old 22 in Fogelsville, Pa.

 

Yeah I always where shower shoes. I was listening to road dog radio one day and a dude called up and said he got MRSA from a shower and just recovered from it that skeeved me out.

 

Showers shoes are a must!! I have seen not only at pilot, the reast of them too using filthly mop water to do the showers. I've also seen them use the towels to dry the floor. Also if YOU watch them after their done they dont take those nasty gloves off before they grab a fresh set of towels to put in there. I always bring my own towels. I also carry lysol i spray everything i might touch including the wall the where i hang my pants an shirt. Those of you that think you dont have to do all of this you should read up on MERSA and whats know as the flesh eating disese (yes i know i cant spell worth beans lol) I've seen reports on the news of people getn the flesh eatting thing just going to the local gym ITS NO JOKE

 

I've found most Pilot's to have clean showers, so I don't know what Pilot's you all are refering too. The Pilot in Fort Wayne, IN has brand new showers that are very nice. Pilot recently bought this truckstop and is in the middle of refurbishing it now. So other areas of the place aren't wonderful but give them a little time to finish the refurbishing and I'm sure it will be much nicer.
