First of all it's not really a flying J but i'll adress that later.

For now, unfortunately i can't really strongly recommend this place anymore.

The petro restaurant has been replaced with a patriot farms restaurant. And the food is actually pretty good especially the salad. But i had a bad experience there; Part of a rubber glove ended up in the cole slaw. (the cole slaw is otherwise pretty good.) i was horrified---i thought that i had put a condom in my mouth.

That plus the waitstaff is slightly below mediocre, and cleanliness is not good means i can no longer recommend the place.

You will probably find a parking space any day of the week though.

    Now that SUCKS!!!!!

Back when they were a Petro, I use to stay there every thursday. Knew everyone there.

Now, I just stop and get coffee there. Now if i am in that area, I stay at the Days Inn across the road.

No, i think it was one of those cheapy latex gloves---i've had experiences with them working on cars.

At least the food preparers are wearing them. Still, i think i would have hoticed if part of my glove ended up missing, but then again maybe not as sometimes you don't notice it until later.

I seriously had my last meal there for awhile. Three of us went there Friday night and had the Ribeye they advertise. Mine came out charred on the outside and a little undercooked for a medium steak. Mine was mealy on the inside with no flavor. I thought "just me". While up to the salad bar one of the preps was telling the foodbar girl the cantalope was bad and to take it off the bar or someone will get sick. My other two friends had a pretty good lettuce salad. They both were running to the bathroom within an hour after we left. Later we were talking about the steaks with all the same opinion. What type of meat was it? It was not any texture of beef, bison, or deer. It was almost like a bear texture my friend said but not the taste. We have all gotten steaks there before under the old name and they were great. Sadly thinking on the line of horsemeat or something cheap from Canada. Since did not specify "beef" it could be anything. Also, most of the old staff still there but the buffet has changed and what was Friday seafood is now gone.

Ordered off menu. Salad bar comes with it. Since then some other locals have stopped going too. Said quality of food has dropped drastically with new ownership.

There is a conty jail about 3 miles away.
The food quality went down hill?
Probibly having prisoners cooking at the county jail.
The reason for part of a rubber glove found in the food, many uses for them !

First of all, over 1/2 of the people visiting this establishment should be so lucky as to experience a home cooked meal, let alone be waited on by some of the best wait staff in the business. You are not only made to feel at home while here, we listen to your endless, BORING chatter! I know, firsthand, that the prep cooks, cooks, line workers, wait staff, etc take EVERY precaution when it comes to safety & cleanliness. Heck, the majority of our family members eat at this restaurant. So, go ahead & bad mouth Patriot Farms because you have NOTHING better to do. Bet your fat behind enjoyed the good food, service & attention. Some lonely, ignorant, grinch wrote the reviews because the restaurant is VERY clean (I know from FIRSTHAND EXPERIENCE), the staff are overly friendly and the food is pretty darned good. We DON'T serve horse, raccoon, deer or any other meat other than USDA approved beef. WOW, you really wanna slam some very hardworking, clean, good people????
