I remember the Blue and Whites near Indianapolis. A loves is on the site of one.
The Raccoon Valley in 75, north of Knoxville.
Charlie T's 'Supper club' off of 95 near Bunnell?
The Seminole on US 27 near Miami. (may still be there?) One time I walked around the back of the building and they had cages and cages of stray cats stacked up behind the building. Made me afraid to eat there.
One of my brothers lived in an upscale gated community east of the Seminole maybe 15 years ago. I remember my nephew came over and had breakfast with me one day at the Tiki bar restaurant. He enjoyed the chickens running around under your feet.
I got stuck with a floor load that had 6 drops in Miami one time about 3 years ago. Took me three days to get it unloaded. All of the stops were little exporters where nobody spoke english, and I had to fingerprint everything....in August.
I have to admit, a burger and a few beers, paying for parking, and a nasty shower seemed like paradise at the time.
What was the name of the place near Fort Meyers? Grandmas?
Even the TA at Greenland, NH had decent food, 25 years ago.
Too many are gone. Please support the independent truck stops. You won't miss them until you realize you have no choice but the garbage the big chains dish out.
Even the old Rip Griffins were OK.
this is for the old timer's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
