I have sensed a general dislike of the Denny's being placed in Flying J before any where even in place. I was just interested in anyones reasons for this. I don't know if everyone just liked the buffet or what.
As far as prices, they seem relatively the same, and I think the choices are probably as good if not better on the Denny's menu.
No real reason, just wondering "Why the hate for Denny's?"
Why the Dislike of Denny's?

They don't cater at all to drivers...To them we are just another customer.
Now that Dennys is in truckstops there are even more tourists and Sunday morning morons in our way as we try to get a morning meal before we go truckin'.
But most of all....The food at Dennys looks just like the picture on the menu and it tastes just like the page the picture is printed on.
I will not buy fuel or anything else from a truckstop that has a Dennys or a Subway.road_runner, ProPilot, dwmac71 and 16 others Thank this. -

I'd say that I prefer the buffet, but for those days that you come in too late and they close the buffet early then I am thankful for the Denny's since the entire menu is available all day/night. But I will agree that it would be nicer to have a mom & pops type of place there that understand and caters to their clientele rather than a commercialized environment. I also went to a Denny's at Pilot the other day and they don't participate in the rewards card, didn't the old ones participate??
SammyTson Thanks this. -
If I wanted to be treated as a inconvienince instead of as a Customer I would stop in a McDonalds

see my comments about my trip to the Gary, IN Denny's.
Standards in place and they still screwed it up. -
$2 for a biscuit and gravy, w/1 egg or hash browns. Ok,,,that'll be $4 for that;2 orders 1 w/egg and 1 w/hash browns. I get 'em both. That's enough for my breakfast.
"local" people/gals there too, not just stinky ol' truckers complainin'.
The big test is if they can do decent biscuits and gravy. Otherwise, I blame them if i wreck... -
i get your point and agree... but where do you buy fuel... they seem to be everywhere thank goodness for cfn for meLast edited by a moderator: Jul 2, 2011

2 eggs, sausage, toast and a small juice. $13.08. That's why I don't eat there. Us drivers a forced to eat at restaurants while on the road and it adds up fast. I think these truck stops should give us a brake on the prices they charge. I also started to eat out of the truck because of this. I don't go to the Flying J or Pilot anymore, except to park for the night.
spuddatruckdriver, ricrey99 and gearjammer-2000 Thank this. -
I pretty much fuel at Petro, T/A and also some of the smaller truckstops these days.
I haven't fueled at a Flying J since the merger, I never have fueled at Pilot and I've only fueled at Loves a couple of time over the years.71mack Thanks this.
