I usually will not use a shower at a Pilot unless I am desperate, Even at the J's I try to go in midday for a shower or extremely late at night. When the board says multiple showers available, you have a better shot at a clean facility.

I am lucky that my company will comp me for a shower, so when I need 1 and the place I have to stop for the night isn't a place I have fueled I am still covered. I've had good luck with the J's though especially when I run the same routes consistently.

I just recently switched from cashier to maintenance , I clean the showers from 8am to 4 pm Monday thru Friday and when extra help is needed, I want to assure you that if you ever come to my store during those hours that you will get fresh towels, very clean showers and candies on your towels when you go in, I will apologize for every other place that you have been to, great help is hard, very hard to come by, I also make sure the truckers lounge stays clean for "my guys" too, my son started driving and I have a bigger respect for the ones in the business, come to San Antonio, you won't be disappointed...I will work to make sure of it...happy trucking! Be safe............

I was there a couple weeks ago, and I must say, well done. You are (unfortunately) the exemption to the rule.

Usually when I stop at stony ridge, oh I'll go into the love's or the petro. The flying j there is an absolute filthy dump, showers haven't been upgraded, fixed, or properly fixed since it was built. The restaurant hasn't improved much since it was converted into a Denny's. Expect to be served by people who looked like they haven't washed their uniforms in a week, I usually stay away from this location, I did stop on there today thinking that with that way a lot of flying j's have been remodeled with nice new shower rooms, maybe they had given this one a makeover, too. WRONG. No improvement what so ever. Also expect to wait 1-2 hours for a shower, minimum, and that's at off-peak hours.

Btw i also avoid the pilot there as well, too many idiots going in there all at once and jam the fuel island up, very little parking, and the counter staff in there (and at flying j) is a bunch of incompetent, mouth breathing idiots. I'd have to wonder what trailer park they hired out of.

The trucker reputation is alive and kicking.People who work at truckstops, distibution centers, shippers and recievers all have some good stories about drivers. The word gets spread and nobody wants anything to do with a driver.Even the people on welfare won't apply at a truckstop anymore because they would be hired. The industry is in the crapper.

"We" need to head over to the kiosk and fill out the survey about good and bad locations.

Happy Easter everyone, I will be going in later tonight or real early in the morning to detail the showers, and I mean detail, if you are in San Antonio this weekend I can guarantee a very clean shower for all my trucking buddies. As I have said before I only work Monday thru Friday 8am to 4pm, but I can't let the little things that need to be done to these showers go anymore. Enjoy your stay while you are here and know that care about your showers! God bless and be safe, watch out for all the idiots.
