Anyone else like this truck stop? I like the fact that they don't have endless rows of cluttered up tourist "flea market" trinket junk (magnets, shot glasses, silly t-shirts, toy cars/trucks) like your typical "travel plaza" T/A, Pilot etc. All they have is snacks, drinks, smokes then some odds and ends you might need for the truck in a pinch (duct tape, lights, gallons of oil, etc). That's it. They have a sit down resturant with good food. Plenty of parking. Decent showers. Nice, friendly staff. I found it several years ago way before they built a Pilot across the street from it. Didn't even know it existed until I made a delivery at a warehouse right next to it. They've always been a busy truck stop. They have remained so even with that Pilot next door. Looks like a lot of the locals come here to have a quick lunch break, or even carry out dinner if they don't feel like cooking. Exactly what a truck stop should be imo. Do any of you drivers like this truck stop?

I came off of a 34 hr reset there this morning. If you have to do one away from the house it's not a bad place to be imo. I said they have a sit down resturant, like you said, it's just a kitchen and they have a large dining room area. They don't wait on you, so if you run out of coke just go fill er up, which I like... And they dont expect tips because they all make minimum or better, unlike a true watress making a buck an hour who lives for the tips, I like this part too. They do bring the food to your table, which is nice. I have to say I am surprised no-one else has commented on this truck stop. I think it's a really good one. Maybe no-one in here knows about it. It's Hagerstown, MD exit 5B off I-81. If you're on I-70 just hop off onto 81N it's less than a mile north of 70 for exit 5B.

I Love the ACT... The company wants us to fuel up at Pilots due to the Discounts but we can fuel up at the ACT if we choose!! Plus the food is better than most place out here and not to mention you dont have to wait for 15 minutes to get your food

Sometimes the less people that know, the more likely there will be parking. The fried chicken is fantastic and their specialty. Scalloped potatoes are great too.

Yeah, so true... Back before they built the Pilot you could always count on being able to get a parking spot in there at any time of the night when everything else was chock full to the gills in PA or VA... No so anymore... :-(

That place has THE BEST food hands down. I never pass that exit without stopping.

I like the truck stop, but I disagree about the large lot. It used to be bigger, but they cut the upper lot in half, and now the place fills up quick. If you do get stuck around here with no parking available, go straight down the main road past the truck stops (or turn left at the SL if you are coming from the truck stops) and go until it ends. I see trucks parked there occasionally, no one ever bothers them.

since we get fuel there, you can get a parking token that will let you park up on the upper lot..
