    Exit 31 on I-135

One of the few old school truckstops left. Despite being 1980's truckstop retro, the showers were really clean and the whole place looks in good shape, despite being older. They are in the 21st century in one respect, free WiFi that actually reaches the parking area.

You forgot to mention the food. I'd drive 100 miles out of my way to sop there.

You'll find the actual owners working in there every day.

Pretty easy to see they understand pride and respect.

LOL, I was writing as I was eating and hadn't finished my meal. The chicken fried steak tasted exactly how I make it at home. Eggs and hashbrowns cooked to perfection. Overall I was very impressed.

Waitress brought me an ice water to start with, nobody does that anymore!

Yes, it is truly an "old-school" truckstop and I stop in any chance I get. I'm sure at some point, Pilot or Loves will go in somewhere near there and I hope the family decides to keep the place in operation for decades to come, but I'd understand if they decide to hang it up. The EPA or other government agency will come in and demand they spend $160k to upgrade the tanks, pumps and drainage system and we'll see if they decide to "play ball" or retire.

This place has always been one of my favorites when headed up that way. Decent parking. Really good food. One of the few buffets I actually look forward to. And they change it every night ie: Italian/BBQ/ Seafood. Only problem I ever had was those d/am/n circles or roundabouts on access road. Many times I was hauling extended step and would be stretched out to 87'. Had to do a little shoe horning.

Took my 30 min break there on my way across US 50. They remodeled the place on the inside and it's really a nice job. Asked the cashier and she said it was done about a year ago.

I fueled there this week and stopped for a shower a few weeks ago. Its a huge improvement from the moldy showers and stinky bathrooms it used to have.

I see they even have shore power in the back row by the interstate.

The help has not got any prettier or friendly though....
