Yeah. That's what they told me here at the Pilot EX-109 I-10.
One guy starts shouting at me to get my CDL because the trucker who won in the casino is only giving to other truckers. I get out to investigate and there he is sitting on the ground with a wad of cash playing 3 card monty and ostensibly losing on purpose. Bunch of guys all excited telling me hell double my money so I should get some out of the ATM. ....uh my policy is you want to give me money just go ahead you dont need my input. But what amazed me was all these other truc kers saying its legit. Were they even truckers? They sure looked the part

That's old as the hills. No truckers, they're all in on it.

what do truckers "look like"? bad enough to get lumped into a stereotype by "regular folk", dont need truckers' help with it.
yes it was a scam...quite a common one from what i understand. anyone encouraging you to "come over here and see" whatever should be met with extreme caution. maybe they are only after your money. maybe they are taking you to a place with less foot traffic to mug you, or worse. besides, if you are looking for someone giving money away, im doing it. ill give you 10k...all you have to do is send your name and where you would like me to western union it to, along with 50 bucks to cover the wu fee to the following address.... lolaiwiron and Arkansas Frost Thank this. -
Well I mean they all looked very clean cut (except for the jackpot winner who looked like a drunk Randy Johnson). Middle aged white guys. Not that race has anything to do with it. Im just saying they were anything but street people looking. They appeared like professional flatbed drivers. Vets.

Best thing when this happens is to keep no conversation and ignore them, it is all a scam and to be honest my phone would be calling the local police.

Should have called somebody anyway. This was my first trip down this stretch of I-10 in Louisiana. Shocking to see such a large group of con artists at a truck stop for me. Like 8 people. Apparently I may see more of this. Ive got an innocent looking face.

Now that you mention it it all happened between 2 rows of trucks. Im lucky? Im not a big guy but I work out and look athletic. Maybe I didnt look like an easy knockdown without complication or I may have been tried.

They got me when I first started driving. After I figured out what was going on or thought was going on I grabbed the card man. I didn't know about the others. Two others grabbed me from behind while the rest scattered. They all went in different directions and I lost the ring leader and the rest disappeared. There is like seven of them that work together.
But yep, call the police. I use to see that same crowd of scammers in OH, KY and TN for like 2 years before I gave in. But I ran OH a lot back then. Then I think it was 2009 I was in OH in the sleeper and heard a rukus going on. Then someone knocked on my door. I opened the curtain and there was them same guys suckering some unsuspecting truck drivers in the empty spot beside me. I rolled down the window and started taking pictures. One come up to my truck asking what I was doing and trying to block my view. I said I just called the cops and I'm gathering evidence. You ought to see them scatter like rats. They went into and around the truck stop because they were parked out front in four cars. I was waiting for them as I walk over towards the exit. I took pictures of each vehicle's license plate. All had OH plates.
I then called the cops but they never showed. I waited an hour and had to leave. One cop called me back and I told him I waited as long as I could. They've been looking for them guys. I ended up emailing the pictures to the police dept. I never heard anything more. Hopefully I put a dent in their operation.
It might be the same ones running a new territory. I'll see if I can't find the pictures on disc after the sorry superbowl.fleet Thanks this.
