When the Patriot Farms was removed and the re-construction was complete there was a completely NEW billboard put up for the "new" Flying J, it's a plain white background with small font and red "icons". It showed a Diesel, DEF, Wendys & Denny's on the sign, and has corresponding "blue board" exit signs showing TWO Denny's at the exit. That is a separate billboard from the one that advertises using the traditional yellow background Flying J billboard that everyone is used from before the merger. This is because the one on the West side of I-95 is in Carmel Church, and the one on the East side of I-95 is in Ruther Glen since freeway divides the two. I guess when you're bilking people out of fuel rebates you can afford separate billboards...

Putting the Golden Corral in the restaurant space, means something happened in the past 30 days or so since the last time I was by there, as the billboards advertising the 2nd Dennys and exit signage were in place before the renovations were complete, and there was a large "COMING SOON DENNY'S" banner on the front of the building. Denny's leases those restaurant locations, maybe the lease fell through.

Considering the outrage that befell us when Pilot systematically bought up Speedway, Williams, and all the little independents and immediately closed the sit-down dining facilities and put in Subways, I welcome anything that's not a Denny's. The old Flying J restaurant was hands down one of my favorite places to eat, and I was so disappointed when the tore them out and made them Denny's, especially when Denny's menu was geared to overly expensive small portions and a drunken 3am crowd. I was partial to the Patriot Farms too stopping in there several times a month.
