A friend told me they are converting the old Patriot Farms to a Golden Corral. Is he just getting my hopes up so they will be crushed next time I am up that way?
If true I hope it happens at others.
Can anyone confirm this? Flying J Ruther Glen, VA

that would be sweet and get rid of denny's. some of them just have really sucky food. and i miss teh old buffets they once had. even though they tasted like crap.

Golden Corral can be a bit hit-and-miss as well, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.....

MackDaddyMark and Tennesseahawk Thank this. -
If they do change over to Golden Corral, good luck getting a seat. You will have the motoring public taking up tables like they do everything else intended for truckers

I dunno. I've been to a few Golden Corral's that I loved especially their breakfast buffet. We had one open in N.E. Sacramento supposedly the biggest in the chain. The place is always packed with people who forgot their manners in the car. The restrooms look like the ones at Woodstock must have after the 3rd day and the General Manager seemed like he could care less. I do love their breakfast buffet but out here they only do it on the weekends. Maybe that would change at a truck stop location.

Ill miss the patriot farms....

Problem is that the free-standing units always seem to be better then the ones at the truck stops. Denny's is a good example. Food is a little better, generally speaking (especially breakfasts) and the prices lower at the individual units. I suspect GC might end up with the same affliction.
