I stopped here a couple times back in early 2012. Thought it was ludicrous they were charging for overnight parking at such a desolate place. (Now we know why though.)

I heard a rumor they're going to be paving the parking lot. Probably gonna start charging when that happens. Was there last night.

There's too much free parking up that way to charge. They're already going to be hurting food wise. Why would I spend $10 at Popeyes when I could go across the street for real food or a brief walk for Dunkin in the morning. I told the manager the Popeyes was a bad choice.

Yup, name a Truckstop on 95 north of the Vince that charges for parking. It gets much easier to find a spot north of 91. There's even a McDonalds at the CT/RI line that has about 10 spots.

    Big_D409, joseph1135 and Cetane+ Thank this.

there may not be one that charges for parking, but that isn't quite the same as a lot of free parking the area, there isn't an overabundance by any means

I highly doubt they are going to charge... I've been there plenty of times ( post TA ) and have never once seen it close to or even half full... Post TA I've showered at this truck stop and paid and sucked it up... Across the street is a really good restaurant and Bar so If you actually have to pay ( I'm sure if you fuel it's free ) bite the bullet and pay... What do you aspect from the small state of RI? It is what it is... Better than nothing... A lot of the complainers work for companies who will pay to park any way's.... If you cannot afford to or do not want to park in an area like RI with one decent truck stop move along... If you cannot afford a $10 spot for the night in the North East be it out of your pocket or your company's it's pretty apparent you better move on... If you are running the NE your company should be happy to compensate you the $10.00 for parking if not the bell should have rang along time ago in your head, time to move on from your company and stop crying... Really?

Wow, hard to believe a McDonalds closed! They typically have really good market research before opening one.
