They have had them for about 3 years. Yes a few others have them as well. Most here on this page have cried #####ed and moan about them, cause they are scared to learn how to use them.(bet they use scanners at Walmart)

I don't see any difference between this and the self checkout lanes at walmart. It's quicker than standing in line most days and I'd rather do it myself anyway

I checked out the other day on one of their kiosks (I delivered fuel), and their process for vendor checkout is tike consuming. Now I know why those guys are paid hourly who run for pilot.

I had to give up and just give the lady my paperwork and get out of there. A 20 minute drop turned into an hour because of their process

99s and as other places and parts of the country get them. We here in the northeast are seeing them being taken out. why??? i asked the manager at the local shaws supermarket how come. He told me to much thieving. For instance one customer bought 9 bottles of good fairly expensive wine. and 1 bottle of cheap stuff. He scanned the cheap bottle then placed an expensive one on the scale. So the register thought he bought 10 bottles of the $2.99 wine. When actually he walked out with 9 bottles of the $30 wine and 1 bottle of thbe cheap stuff.
I was at that pilot when the self serv machines first went in. The cashier was trying to get people to jump out of line and try it. I told her no and she should be happy i did. When she asked me why, i explained that if people used and liked to use the self serv. That pilot wasnt gonna need 3 c ashiers on a shift, and eventually "somebody" was going to lose there job because of lack of hours. Then when they go on unemployment, and get medicare. I would have to ring up and bag my own product while paying taxes for them to sit at home unemployed. And pfj would be making a bigger profit cause they certainly wernt gonna lower prices to reflect the lower labor cost.
