The Italian restaurant next to the Five guys isn't bad either and they also have a full service bar inside...

I agree this is the best restaurant at any truck stop hands down.

Haines City???? Come on now. If we're going to slum it up, I do miss Johnnies in NJ as well as the All Americans. Next thing you know, you'll be telling us how great Truckers Paradise is here in Orlando. ;)

Usually a large Petro, are my main stops to eat, Iowa 80 TA has a #### good steak and I would say it's the best for all the food choices and stuff to look at. I had a waitress bringing out my steak and it came sliding off the plate at the 80 and they had to cook another, hooked me up with free meal and I had extra sides on another extra plate. Another place I used to like was some old gas station near Holcomb, KS when I hauled beef, real small fuel stop but it had a grill and you would cook your own burgers, it was across the street from an IBP at the time. I guess I just enjoyed getting to cook my own stuff out on the road, plus the meat was good and thick.

Transplant!?!?!?! Them are fighting words bud! Native here! I did move to PA for a few years once I started trucking. My wife calls me a partial Yankee for that as she's only lived in Orlando and St Pete. When I started trucking in 2000, Haines City was a dump. Of course, Pilot's suck too, but at least there's a Sonnys now across the street to get real food.

Some of the old places had their good and bad points to them, but the service and food was allways there.
To the poster who said he got a good steak at the T/A in Walcott, go across the street and you will get a way better steak at Grandma's plus they have a bar if your so inclined to partake. Great prime rib,,
