I've given guys a shower credit before. Never been asked by a homeless guy though, just other drivers.

I have had to bum for showers at a truck stop before I ever started driving (not homeless, thank God. Water heater was out at home) so I can say if I ever have the chance to pay it forward, I gladly will.

Back in 2012 I stopped at a T/A that just got "Bussed" and had a line to the men's room down the hall. I saw the Roadking kiosk and got a instant idea. Because I was short fueling to get to ILL to top off I had 6 showers on my card. Instead of standing in line I got a shower. There was a guy with two young kids standing in line. I told them to follow me, let them use the toilet in the shower and then used it myself. I have done this a few times since when the restroom is backed up and I got shower points on my card I know I'm not going to use.

    Ive been
asked 5 maybe 6 times by other drivers I always give them away I drive a daycab and stay in motels everyday so I have no use for a truckstop shower I see no reason to keep them if somebody can use them.

    blairandgretchen and gpsman Thank this.

whenever I see a driver going to pay for a shower , I always offer him one of my shower credits if I have one, I have also given them to folks who have asked them . I have never had anyone call me about a stolen towel or showerhead.

even if I did , I would still do it. I have also had the favor returned.

its just simply the decent thing to do,

when you do good things for people good things come to you.

I couldn't imagine not doing it.

All the time, for other drivers. Although I've never met a homeless person who wanted to bathe. When I worked at Knight they always wanted you to fuel at the terminals and with low miles overall it wasn't uncommon to get a credit a week. I hate asking for anything but more times than not there was a driver with an extra credit to spare. Offered to buy them a cold drink or give them a few bucks and never once did anyone accept....just pay it forward.
