Walmart store in Gardner Ks. (I35 x210) has requested from the local police to flag and tow any semi (bobtail included) parked at anytime, for any amount of time, in their parking lot. Signs are posted and they will tow. Apparently the new store management has a distaste for big trucks and truckers.

But RV's are welcome to park at anytime..

Sadly there seems to be more and more WalMarts that don't want us around and its a shame because that's where I shop for pretty much everything from groceries to windshield washer when i'm on the road.
I wonder if its about the piss jugs and garbage some of these pigs leave behind or is there some other reason that they wouldn't want our money?:smt102

truckers MOST LIKELY leaving their trash on the ground, when the trash can is 5 feet away.
We have no one to blame but our selves.

That surely is the truth. I was a training supervisor for them at the DC 6015 in Laurens, sc started when he was still alive, left very shortly after he died. The company changed fundamentally on every level almost immediately upon his death. Policies, treatment of employees, customers, drivers ( company and outside ), vendors....the whole company philosophy and way of doing business was radically and 180 degrees changed within no more than 90 days after he died. Within a year it had changed so much I was gone. While he was alive it truly was a good place to work. After, many of us left.

I do agree though many of the locations that are banning trucks, it is because of the driver's actions of trashing the property and generally being morons. The ones I've parked at, I've seen worse behavior from drivers than I usually see in the truckstops.

I was going to park there once but called first and got the no parking answer. Seems like kc would have more truck stop options. I've parked at that little shell 7/11 a few times. I guess there's a mall nearby that guys park at too.

The trashing of the premise is part of it but the other thing is, when 1 or 2 park there simultaneously, it's like an open invitation for a dozen to park there inside of a few hours (if easily visible from a major throughfare) and next thing you know, 1/3 of the lot is full of trucks parked every which way and begin griping and going off because some car or motor home has them blocked them in by the time they finally decide to wake up.

But thing is, some Walmarts seem to be ok with this and their lots are full virtually all the time, and have been for years (like in Vernon, TX for instance). Go figure.

Some do, some don't. I would rather shop elsewhere than give the Walmart pigs my money, but sometimes you have no options, and I am thankful for ones that do let you park there. But the problem is that drivers do trash them, piss all over the place, bags full of literal crap, garbage, oil because they work on their trucks, etc. and some being in the way or making it dangerous for pedestrians and 4-wheelers. You can't blame them. You really can't. If the slobs out here could show a little respect and appreciate that Walmart usually does let them park there, then you would not see this issue. There are times I really need a Walmart for prescriptions or socks or whatever. I'm so thankful that there is a place for me to do that, and I treat the store, the lot and the employees accordingly. They don't need to let you park there. When they do, appreciate it. Put your cart back. Clean up your trash. This isn't rocket science.
