If any company has crap like that in their food, I am not going there. They are only removing it because the word got out about it and they got bad press.

salt is sodium chloride, choride is a product of chlorine which in gas form can kill people, but is used to purify water. sodium is actually highly reactive metal.

so I guess salt should be banned as well,

this is about the same thing as what the hoopla was about the additive in the bread.

Yeah Subway have been caught with their pants down about this plastic based chemical they use in their bread making.
It's called Azodiacarbonamide, what a mouthful. Apparently it's legal in the US thanks to Govt sitting on the sidelines and aggressive greedy corporate lobbying, where profits are preferred to public health. Europe and the rest of the world banned it long ago.
So if they do that with the bread, what are they doing with the meat filling.
Are we really sure it's actually MEAT they use or is it a substitute look alike.
    Thanks I'll pass.
Togos is good though but they don't exist in Texas.

If people saw the list of food ingredients and preservatives that are outlawed in other countries but ok over here they would be shocked. I hear over seas fast food really is food and not combination of food and food like substitutes. Uncle Scam will let these big companies put what ever they want to in our food, if word ever gets out they just change the rule while the press is watching then go back to business as usual.

Azodiacarbonamide is made of carbon hydrogen oxygen and nitrogen, it isn't a plastic at all. when used in the plastic foam industry its purpose is break and release bubbles of carbon dioxide, nitrogen into the foam causing it to puff up, how else do you think they get the bubbles in it. but it is not a plastic at all, gives the same kind of result in bread, helps puff it up.

it is used in the plastic foam industry but it is not a plastic.

What really bothers me about subway is the lack of info about their subs.

I called their HQ a couple years ago asking for a list of ingredients in their subs, what meat they use in which sub and how much. they refused to give it to me saying that it is not right for them to say - I know BS.

Well this call was caused by going to the pilot in Toledo one day and having a sandwich that I get all the time - Spicy Italian - with two thirds of the meat that I would get anywhere else. I went rounds with the dimwitted idiot behind the counter about how much meat is supposed to be on the sandwich and finally after the "discussion" I ordered two more sandwiches, which when it came to paying for, I told her I changed my mind and walked out.

I'm glad there's no aziasicoride at this Mexican bar and grill I've been at all afternoon. I feel rather healthy.
