    who remembers dorsett truck stop i-35 ex 221 texas....only stop there about 3 times but it was a real unique. i see the building is still their.. it always seen to be busy....anyone know why it went under?

    It closed about the same time they started building Cabela's on the other side.

    I ate there a few times more than a decade ago. I drive by it often, there are always people under the fuel islands working on something or standing around, but nothing appears to be happening lol.

    If i remember correctly, they had a kitchen fire, around 2006, and never reopened. They were convenient, being just south of Austin. And they had a very good Chicken Fried Steak.
