The TA in Ontario, CA still had the Orange Ball?

The TA's in Terrell, TX, Big Spring, TX and Rawlins, WY were Rip Griffins Travel Centers?

Pilots with the green metal roofs were Williams Travel Centers?

    Flying J didn't accept Comdata?

The TA in Dallas on Big Town Blvd between US80 and I30 was still open?

The Pilot in Jamestown, NM was owned by Giant and was a great place to stop?

The old El Paso truckstop off Airway Blvd had actual parking?

    I do.

Sittin at the truck stop in Newport Ar on 67. Fuel desk was off to the side, shop was in the back and had a big round table in the cafe.

Also Rips in Tonopah, AZ. We didn't have fuel cards, just an "account" and signed the invoice.

I used to love the Giant, was really sad to see the Pilot take over.

Good post, I was just thinking about the TA in Mesquite off Big Town. Way back when I ran team for a summer with a friend of mine (I was going to college at the time) and we had a dedicated run that landed in Dallas every Monday morning. We used to go to the TA Sunday night and walk over to the Furrs cafeteria and joke we were going to get us some Furr burgers.

One you forgot that used to be one of my favorites was the 76 in Blythe. It used to be a pretty nice place with a very good restaurant. I stopped there a couple years ago when I had my daughter riding along for breakfast. Holy cow what a dump that place turned into.

I'm trying to remember the name of the truck stop in Lost Hills, CA. Pretty sure the TA in Parowan, UT used to be one of them as well. I can't remember but I used to stop there regularly as well.

I remember Flying J, and no Com-Data when I had to pay for a little fuel with cash to get to the next truckstop because of a truck I wasn't familiar with yet.

I remember stopping at a truck stop near Ridgeway, WI. I guess it wasn;t open for long and a bad accident happened on the turn across for the westbound side, they closed it, and shortly after that completely removed any access directly from US 18 & 151.

Just west of there, was a truck stop east of Dodgeville on the junction of Bennet Road and 18, which now has a roundabout, and the fuel portion was closed for several years, the restaurant closed sometime later. There is a sign on that one that it will be reopened and there is work going on.

I remember when there was fuel at the truck stop in Peru, IL next to the Pinecone restaurant, the fuel is gone, and the building, the restaurant was refurbished and then later closed, and the Tiki Inn, which was next to the lot has been closed up, too. The Crazy Ds just to the west on the same service road was turned into a flea market and has now been demolished.

Every now and again, an abandoned truck stop will get reopened, Not often, though.

Ah, that's right, the TA in Tonopah was a Rip off s. The lot layout is almost identical to Terrell.

Wasn't it Burns Brothers in Lost Hills? I remember that being an authorized fuel stop when I was at Stevens.

The Blythe, CA 76 restaurant wasn't bad when I ate there not too long ago, just felt creepy for some reason, lol.

Burns Brothers! That's them. Couldn't remember. I started with Knight back in 1994 and they used Rips and Burns Bros along with others. A sure give away that a stop is an old Rips is the lack of restroom facilities at the fuel island building.
