Beware of a towing company named towing solutions who comes and makes rounds only late at night and stated that they come in looking for bobtails to hook up and demand $125 or tow it...they came and punched the side of my sleeper to wake me up from Sound sleep at 130am.....the wrecker driver explicitly stated that he looks for bobtails...that's what he said to me personally..

Did you knock him out? I'm pretty easy going, but something like that and I'd go berserk!

There's a BP in Atlanta that pulls that garbage; owned by some guy from India. He walks around with a wheel lock under his coat, then sneaks up on you and puts it on your truck wheel. They charge $1500.00 to take it off. What's wrong with truckers these day letting some ignorant bully get away with this.

Please tell me you didn't pay the prick.

I'd have called the police and did whatever was necessary to keep him from driving away with my truck until after they arrived and dealt with the situation.

I'd tell him to get lost. Didn't your mother teach you any manners? They are looking for drivers leaving their truck or trailer there on home time. Columbus being slim on parking, many drivers abused leaving their truck there. When you have a lot full of non-paying customers then they have to do something. The lot is well posted as you enter it. That still doesn't give the tow company a right to see if drivers are in their truck or not. Sit your butt there and monitor the lot if you want to catch someone. They want the best of both worlds. I would drop Pilot corporate an email and explain they are harassing paying drivers. I never did like that truck stop.

Look on google maps, they are flooded with bobtails. I'd say many are getting their trailer loaded nearby.

Thanks for the link, it reminded me of the mornings I'd eat at that Waffle House that's right across the street from that Pilot with a couple coworkers after getting off work at CallTech a couple miles down the road in the industrial park.

    Good times.

Why don't they "chalk tires" if they are really trying to stop excessive parking and don't care to needlessly wake drivers. A driver could be inside getting a shower and they will take that to mean the truck is unattended??? A truck that hasn't moved in 12 or 24 hours though needs to be looked into.

I went by there Wednsday morning at 09:00 and it was full minus 2 or 3 spots. Something is wrong there being full at 09:00 when most should be out loading and unloading or running down the road at that hour. Trucks on or inside loops of large cities are crippled with the problem of local drivers using their lots for truck storage while they are home.

I don't fault Pilot for doing this, in fact I would praise them for doing this, but I fault the towing company for their operational practices. But Pilot needs to make this practice well known with signage at the entrance and at the fuel side store entrance.

Anyone that parks a bobtail in a full length spot WHEN there are other places on the property is a lazy, rude jerk...
