At least TA will keep the restaurant open. Thank goodness it wasn't Pilot Flying J.

 

I was just there the other night, and the people were still nice and the food was GREAT! This is too bad once again!!

 

It will be screwed. TA is sure fire way to get food poisoning.

 

that's too bad. it's way too nice to be a TA. and too bad that the big chains have to take over the mom and pops.

i'd like to know where the 170 employees are though.

 

if it is in the sales agreement to keep the truckstop as it is now. then t/a can't change anything. that's what rip griffins did when they sold to t/a. t/a wanted to take out the restaurant and put in a mcdonalds in Rawlins,wyoming. all the drivers said they would quit stopping there if they did that. t/a messed up willy's place in texas. I stopped there after they made it a petro. and I was so disappointed to see how they destroyed it. then they bought the gas city in demotte, indiana. and completely ruined that place. most of the people there quit. they took out all the hard to find stuff. murdered the best food on I-65. one of the most disappointing sell out I seen. was when pilot bought the wings truckstop in avoca,iowa. or maybe that's a loves now. any ways. did way with toca johns and the restaurant. turned it into a another place to take a crap on the road. and that is about it... and hopefully if everything goes well with the phone interview. I won't have to be a truckers and think about where to get a decant or good meal that I don't have to cook.

 

Avoca still has taco johns and the restaurant
still has worse coffee on I80
still has a lousy truck wash
and the loves is brand new at exit 36

mmmm ..... well just like I say about Carl's Corner .... at least it will still be a place to park ..... it kills me when I drive by an old truck stop with a chained off parking lot

I have always liked their restaurant .... much better than TA.
