Not a whole lot of places to stop in New Mexico on Interstate 40. Mr. PackRat told me about this place and as usual he was on the money. Blakes does breakfast so its more than just a burger place. All their ingredients are fresh. Its on the other side of the interstate from the Pilot. The place has truck parking, a dirt lot with big pot holes but you'll make it out of there alive. lol

My favorite burger joint ever.
If you're on the 10 corridor in New Mexico, the Walmart at Exit 140 (Avenida de Mesilla/NM28) has a Blake's next door. They do allow overnight truck parking at the Walmart.
Just DONT enter the lot from the Avenida de Mesilla entrance, between the convenience store and hotel, it's restricted to trucks entering (but oddly not exiting) the lot. Go to the next light, right on Valley Dr. and the next two rights are the truck entrances to the Walmart. Park in the lot on the west side of the store (it's marked customer truck parking)TruckDuo and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
I used to work at that store. A NM DOT officer loves to park in that hotel parking lot and write up trucks who enter through there.
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
We've stopped there before. Haven't tried breakfast, but the burgers are OK. Lotta Boring Burger I like to call it.
If you enter Moriarty from the west end and drive through town, there is a really good family owned broaster fried chicken place that has REALLY good chicken. Shortys BBQ chicken. We phone the order in and stop on the side to pick it up, then continue down the road and park in Lisa's to munch.TruckDuo and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
TruckDuo Thanks this.
