There's a driver appreciation week?

 

My company had a cook out at the terminal I work out of. Was supposed to be from Noon to 3pm today. I got there about 12:15. I was the first driver/O-O to show up. No food was left because the office workers/ dispatchers were pigging out. Turned out to be nothing but a big party for the office workers

 

Hi BigSam, uh huh, there's your appreciation for ya. That's terrible. So in 15 minutes the food was gone?

 

Pilot/ Flying J is giving out hats....oh thanks. My company is having BBQ's at their terminals across the country.

 

$15 bucks from the company to go eat.

Not bad.

 

Wyoming Port of Entry had donuts and cookies for us, the Wyoming Truckers Assosciation dropped them off there.

 

I've gotten a nice company duffle bag and a new pair of work gloves. Been told more goodies to come Friday. Pretty cool since they really don't have to do anything.

 

All week, breakfast and lunch made for all drivers. Good food not hot dogs and box cereal. Fresh made chicken, tri tip, breakfast burrito, omlets, drinks. all day long. Also $25 to spend on company merchandise, shirts hats etc. And in the morning there is a health fair. Get you blood pressure, cholesterol etc checked and get $10. Very cool. Love this place.

 

When is Dot bear appreciation week? There's an under appreciated bunch doing a truly important job...

 

I am really scoring this week... I am at the terminal and every day a different department is providing and serving lunch.. grilled burgers, chicken, potato salad, scalloped potatoes, chips, drinks, deserts. .. they have also had so e great give aways.. have gotten a toiletries bag, nice beach towel, a shirt, hat, cool coffee mug already so far and there is still the rest of the week.. there have also been a lot of the usual give aways.. pens, note pads and such..

There have also been a lot of fun stuff going on... today many of the dispatchers were doing pre trips on trucks and trailers and being graded by drivers.. fun way for drivers and dispatcbers and drivers to interact.. there has been a lot of other fun games and stuff.. Yesterday a radio station was broadcasting live from the terminal.. friday there is a free carnival and movie at the Werner Ball Park.. they are showing field of dreams...

Looking forward to seeing what the next few days hold...
