I usually lock my doors everytime I leave my truck. I seen some drivers dont. Do people actually climb into another drivers truck and take some stuff? I have windows screen on sometimes, you think anybody have enough guts and punch it in to steal?

Lets review. Over the last 40 years, the list of stuff I've had stolen are: fuel, tires, CB, two trucks and one trailer. Pretty sure the general public has no use for most of that stuff, so, I would conclude that HELL YEAH THEY DO! :)

At the TA in Youngstown, OH back in 1997, before paperless fueling, i had gone into the fuel desk to sign for my fuel. When i came back to the truck, an ####### was in my sleeper try to unhook my TV. Myself and several other drivers held him until the cops came. He claimed he had gotten in the wrong truck, but he didnt have a CDL, just a class "C" license. We all waved as they drove off with him in the back seat of the squad car.
After that, i always locked my doors, even if i was just out working on the truck/trailer.

I don't keep anything of value in my truck. I don't have a tv or DVD or video games. I have a used cobra CB that I bought 4 years ago for $25. I always carry my phone and wallet with me when I get out. So I don't always lock my doors. If someone really wants to steal a pair of my drawers, they're more than welcome to them.

Yes drivers will steal from other drivers. When I was in the Army we had a problem with a string cars getting broken into at my barracks. Later they busted the soldiers involved...they lived in the barracks as well. Ever since then I lock my vehicle up whether it's the semi or my pov. I will lock my pov in the drive way of my parents house when I visit them and they live in the middle of nowhere. When I was an OTR driver I always took every single item I had in the truck with me even if I just stopped at the house to spend one night. At my current job I'm local and I work weekends and hardly anyone else does at my terminal and I could just leave all my stuff in the tractor but I take it with me every single time so that way I never have a problem with someone taking my stuff.

truckstops are magnets for thieves , drug attics and conmen, I have had my truck broken into and in broad daylight had folded tarps stolen and a spare tire, as well as a driver from Werner tear my hood off and then drive off, did not mention having my fuel tanks pumped dry when I was a company driver while I ate lunch in wytheville,va,,,

If I can I avoid truckstops,,

I wish. The 1st one was 20 years ago, I had a Western Star that I sold thru a dealer, 2 days before the guy came to pick it up it was stolen outta their yard never to be seen again. The second one was a truck, trailer and load that was stolen outta my own yard about 15 years ago, and again, nothing was ever recovered. The insurance co. paid out in both cases, in the 1st one it took them over 3 months to settle, in the 2nd one they paid out on the truck and the load within 30 days, I fought with them for close to 2 years on the trailer as I had a Benson flat and they tried to pay out like it was an old Fruehauf steel trailer. I don't recommend dealing with the adjusters if you don't have to. :)

I always hear about fuel being stolen.
Sometimes loads going to/from Laredo and El Paso Texas get stolen.
But, I've never seen either happen with my own eyes.

Definitely keep both doors locked at all times, even when going to get fuel receipts..

It is TRULY & GENUINELY a sad situation when truck drivers cannot trust other truck drivers at the truck stops or rest areas.
