So I'm here in Houston, TX at the Flying J off exit 64. This guy parks in front of the old scale (as drivers typically do), and I am watching this other flatbed try to get into. He can't cause the guy parked by the scale is blocking the way (not to mention he's double parked next to a car hauler, which isn't in the way). So as it turns out the two drivers for this one truck were inside eating or taking a shower or something (and imo, they are got kinda lucky this guy wasn't in the mood to get back out of his truck...lol). Anyways, if you are going to do this, don't leave your truck. Yeah truck stops get full so if you absolutely have to do this and are in the way (come on guys, we're drivers, we should be able to judge distance and know what other truckers are gonna have to do to get past an obstacle) stay with your truck, so if someone needs to get by you can move out of the way while you wait for a spot to open up (and yeah, obviously so you can get that spot when it does open). Don't be a *********** like those two guys.

This is one reason why i dont do otr anymore as i have no patience for disrespectful drivers especially ones that block the fuel island to go get a shower or are in the wendys at the pilot feeding their overweight self while drivers are trying to get fuel.

How about the drivers that pull in facing you and shut down when you're backed into a spot. Had one " immigrant" tell me to wake him up when I was ready to leave. I couldn't find a translator so I told the TS manager to call the towing company. Then I looked up the DOT number and called the company. I'm sorry, but I tend to make judgments based on how I treat other people

    ThatFlatbedGuy2013 Thanks this.

In 23 years of Driving. I never parked like an Idiot. I simply refuse to do so. I will keep driving until I find a place with a proper parking space.

We did that once when I was in training. Snowing like a bat out of hell. Us and four others double parked in front of the others parked in actual spots however we all had a 'group meeting' with those parked in spots and we basically agreed to work it outing the morning when one had to leave. In think we were the first ones out as it was anyhow...so no problem s there.

If you are on paper. But if your on QUALCOMM it's shut down or be fired. I typically plan it so i don't have to go over. I know the truck stops on my routes too so that helps, however if I know I'm not gonna get a spot i'll park at the customer. Or like today when I'm in Houston I'll just cruise around the lot till someone leaves, or 'park like an idiot' till someone leaves if i can find an out-of-the-way spot.

I don't understand...what about the way he was parked makes it "redneck" parking?
