Just saw a sign that PFJ is giving you free showers for a month after 500 gallons of fuel. Seems like a better deal than the 1000 gallons you have to pump at Loves and maybe I won't have to wait 2 hours for a shower now.

Hopefully it doesn't cause longer lines/wait times.

We do all our fueling at PFJ anyways.
So not like I ever ran out of Showers.

I generally will hit a J as opposed to Pilot so if I do have to wait at least there's a lounge. There has to be at least one episode of NCIS I haven't seen yet.

I liked the idea of free showers and not having to worry about losing them after taking a few days off and returning to the road. Now if we can only get the carrier to let you fuel at both PFJ and Loves equally, this would give a driver many more shower options to fit into schedules and preferred stops, with no worries about having to see if all the PFJ showers fell off because they decided to route you exclusively to Loves for a week.

A little competition is a good thing. Enjoy it while you have it.

    FatDaddy and bergy Thank this.

The only time I've ever waited that long for a shower was at the Love's in Odessa.

Had to wait an hour for one at the TA Seattle East the other day.

I may have a exaggerated a wee bit. But I do get frustrated with Love's and the always waiting for a shower. There are times when I expect to wait due to time of day, but generally I don't park at Loves so I will usually grab a shower during off peak times during the course of my driving day or night and will still have to wait more often than not.

They also raised the earned showers all to 10 days before the 500 gallons per month is met.

Had to wait a long time at a TA where they were training the help, once, otherwise I try to do it off peak periods, like wee hours or early afternoons, not after dawn or before later night.

The 1/2 shower thing does work there, too. 2 halves equals 1 shower.

    FatDaddy Thanks this.

Me too. But when I'm consistently waiting a 1/2 hour for a shower at 1pm no matter what Loves I go to in the country then it's not an efficient use of my time
