I am too the idea of showering and going #2 in a windshield bucket doesnt appeal to me at some fuel stop thats fuel only and no other services. Especially if i did them in wrong order.

Pay for parking is the truck stop's business if they want to do that. However, I avoid those places. Can't afford it, plus, they're often dirtier and in worse shape than the free ones.
Most places I go it's not impossible to find parking. I spend a lot of nights at shippers and consignees. I do flatbed, so that's not an uncommon option. Big cities are usually where the pay places are, and a LOT of our places are in small towns out in the boonies. Big city trips often can be planned where you park a couple of hours out the night before, go in, unload-load, and get down the road away from the riff-raff.
Rest areas are good. Those monstrous things in Indiana almost bring tears to my eyes. Especially when I've got 10 minutes left and I know they'll have spots.
Walmarts. Restaurants that have parking. Tonight I'm at a hole-in-the-wall mom and pop. Quiet, plenty of open space to park, and a bathroom.
I know I'm missing out on the made-for-Pilot local souvenirs and overpriced junk food, but oh well. I'll survive.
I get my free showers during the day, on my 30, when there's less likelihood of a wait.
It gets frustrating when you pull into a place and they charge, but over time I've kept a mental not of where they are, and trip plan to not be put into such a situation.
Of course, with all the different kinds of trucking, a lot of folks have a much harder time with parking.
It should be noted that I do next to no east coast. Yet. Hopefully it stays that way.

I've never worked for a company that didn't reimburse for parking. My company reimbursed me for a reserved spot at a TA.

I really they think all should, its the right thing to do. Then again the truck stop pocket guide, truck stop directory, and ultimate truck parking guide were well worth the money. Most of the time can just plan around paying and avoid it.

How many drivers do you think will actually wash their own truck. I seriously doubt that very many do.

$10.00 on up.. there's nothing like the feeling a driver get taking the very last paid parking space on the spot
