According to the Desert Dispatch, a Pilot Travel Center employee is behind bars after allegedly striking a truck driver with a broom.

The altercation allegedly began over a truck parking dispute. VVNG reports that the truck driver, 60-year-old Charles Nalley, had parked his truck in a no-parking zone and had gone into the store to make a purchase. The Pilot employees confronted Nalley and told him he needed to move his truck.

Nalley informed the Pilot employees that he was moving his truck as soon as he completed his purchase.

After Nalley completed his purchases, he went back to his truck. Pilot employee Kristopher Conrad Oliver, 30,allegedly followed Nalley to his truck and continued to argue with him and allegedly struck Nalley in the head with a wooden broom handle.

The incident occurred at the Pilot Travel Center on State Highway 58 near Victorville, California.

The police were called and Oliver was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm.

Nalley suffered lacerations to his hands and a swollen eye, VVNG reported. He refused medical treatment.

“Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact Deputy Eugene Barela or Sergeant Matthew Griffith of the Barstow Sheriff’s Station at (760) 256-4838. Callers who wish to remain anonymous are urged to call the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME (27463) or you may leave information on the We-Tip Hotline at www.wetip.com,” VVNG reports.

Well, I can see hitting some truckers with a broom, but, in my opinion, it might be more effective to hit him with a fire hose & a bar of soap!

I no longer stop at pilot mainly because they woke one of my companies drivers up while he was on his 10 (we pull doubles so sometimes we have to make a spot) now I can ad this to the reasons I will not stop there.

If it was not doubles or some other "special need'' situation, I commend the Pilot employee. Driver should have gone and parked rather than being a lazy *#*# blocking the fuel lanes, gas tanker lane, impeding traffic or who knows what all else. Probably deserved a good beating.

one of those parking in a no parking zone, the guy should have used a baseball bat. and whther pulling doubles or not the guy should have been woken up, your driver should plan his route and time better.
