I did a drop and hook at the UPS center in Mesquite, TX. The empties were located at the old TA on Big Town Blvd.

Had many of fun times there and across the street at the hotel/ bar.
Kinda sad to see it went by the wayside, but yet kinda a blessing in disguise

The security guard told me quite a few drivers she talked to reminisced about when it was open. I used to cash com checks there when I drove for Stevens.

Dallas said it was a drug/prostitute haven and a menace to society. They took legal action to close it. That is when T/A decided to open a location on I20 and the one on I30 in Rockwall. One of the requirements for the location on I20 was it had to be fenced and controlled access.

Rockwall T/A was open even when the one on Big Town Blvd. was open. The one in rockwall is a franchise location
Yes the hookers were kinda an issue, but you had to kinda enjoy the view sometimes when they went by tying to get you to use their service..Alot of them not shy about flashing you... broke the boredom.
The bar/ hotel was fun, but on a down note. You could charge your bar bill to your room..
Then come check out time, you see how much fun you had and was trying to remember what all you drank the night before. They never did pad the bill to my remembering...

I've heard legendary stories. Never did have the pleasure of staying there

Always feel a bit sad when seeing a closed up truck stop or trucking company yard and think of the past it had and the people that had been there over the years
