Yes. The state of Virginia has acquired the property, and the TA in Troutville VA has been closed since November 2014. AFAIK TA has no plans yet to build another truck stop in the area.

I think some members here are confused (as I was initially) as to which Pilot we are discussing. It was on South Atlanta Road, which is not in south Atlanta but rather on the northwest area of I-285 between I-20 and I-75. It wasn't so much of a crime zone as it was merely undersized.
The real ghetto Pilot is indeed on the south side of town off I-285 at the Bouldercrest Road exit (conveniently located near the old TA that was closed due to multiple homicides, among other things) and it is still thriving in all its glory as a filth ridden, disease laden, veritable den of inequity.allniter Thanks this. -
It is patrolled heavy by security tho a few slip thru inbetween rounds..
Hookers (said she did parties) gold chains p0Rndvds etc ..
and a couple selling hot food out of their wagon near Krogers entrance -
It's wierd driving by the Roanoke TA and seeing it empty.
tucker Thanks this. -
The one on the east side of atlanta is still open, it's just as tiny and busy as ever...
I know there was construction going on 285 and on the overpass for that pilot. While it wouldn't be much of a loss at all (I hated getting in and out of there when people creatively park.) it took some of the pressure off the few other pilots in the Atlanta area. Next closest one I can think of is down in Jackson off i75 sb, villa rica i20 WB and Newnan on i85 sb.
