Their service has gotten worse and worse over the past couple years but now they are charging more than the hotel actually costs!

My most recent hotel stay I walk into the lobby and ask what their best rate is like I always do and they say it's $62 after tax. I ask what the CLC rate is and its $48(difference has to be at least $10 to account for CLC tax and transaction fee). So I swipe the clc card and stay the night. Charge comes through a few days later........ $67.76!!!

I call up CLC and tell them what happened and they told me in order to see if the clc card will actually get me a discount I need to pull up the hotel on the app every time before I stay and make sure the member rate is at least $10 lower than the best cash rate to make sure I'll actually get a discount and they offered no help at all for this hotel stay.

So needless to say I will be disputing this charge to my credit card, blocking all future transactions from them and shredding the card. Here lately its been on average only knocking off the taxes at best anyway! What a #### company!

Don't you have to sign something for it to be charged to your credit card?

You missed "Rants" by a few inches.

I agree with Terry270. CLC used to save a decent amount but not so anymore. You can get a better discount through OOIDA or AARP or get free nights with most chains rewards cards.

if you don't have a clc card, then AAA or for us older drivers, AARP gets us discounts.
And as other have said, Best Western's program is pretty good.
