I paid 3.16 a gallon today. I doubt any QT in minnesota can even come close. The discount alone makes me stop at the junk.

I talked with one of the guys who runs there often, and heard a slightly different reason, the reason I heard was bankruptcy. My only comment other than that is there are no Pilots on 90 in MN.
If you use the amenities and drive very far, Kwik Trip/Star is not the same. You have WI, and MN with Kwik Trip and IA with Kwik Star( reason for Star was a trademark infringement case with Quick Trip in IA). I run some WI but not that much of either of the other 2.
As for TA, the franchise outlet at Albert Lea (south a few miles on 35)went company and was changed to Petro and now has a 24 hour restaurant. The Flying J that was planned for the locale before the 'merger' has never happened. It may yet, but I'm not holding my breath.
I stopped at a couple of Iron Skillets on the last trip east, and the prices aren't the same, even though the menus are close, so price depends on location as well as brand.
MN is tough on the majors, I guess.
I liked the restaurant at the old stop in Austin, but that also is no more. The building is gone.TruckDuo Thanks this. -
We load right out of Austin at Hormel and usually were at the old truck stop. The Trails End (Petro branded) has always been a great place, I mean they have a Cold Stone Creamery in there!

Anything was an improvement though, that place was falling apart before they closed it.
