A good old M & P diner/truck stop was at Goodall's, just off the old I-86 on the CT/MA line.....Best breakfast around, you couldn't see it from the I state....Not a lot of parking, maybe room for 10 trucks.....A lot of the Stop n Shop and Buster Brown guys stopped there....It was located at the top of a hill...I remember one time a guy only set his trolley, why I don't know, and the rig ended up down the hill, through the fence, and into the pond!....I can truly say that I have never eaten a better pancake then the ones they served up there....It's long gone now, just another good memory...

The T/A at exit 102 - I95 (S.C.) is long gone by probably 20 years. That's the exit I use to go home when NB on I95. You mentioned you don't do FB. I humbly suggest you take a shot. There's a page dedicated to old truck stops that I've enjoyed in my 30+ years.
BTW, the T/S at the 100 mm in Ms. is OK, I've slept there a few times, no problems -
Thanks for the update on exit 102. I stopped there quite often in 1970-72. I remember it as a Rhodes T/S but for some reason I keep thinking that it might have been a Truckstops of America. I have done a Google Map on it and it is a vacant lot now and have recently been in contact with Dusty Rhodes who used to manage it for his parents. I might think about facebook just to see that page. Do you remember the T/A that was at Garysburg, NC on I-95 at exit 196 Route 46? That was also back then but I think they closed it up due to an underground fuel leak but I'm not sure.

jbatmick,
I just wanted to reply to your post on Rhodes Truck Stop. I was able to find "Dusty" Rhodes online who was the manager of Rhodes T/S for his parents back in the 70's. He responded to me briefly about the T/S but now has stopped because he fears I am writing a book about it or something. I remember the T/S well on my trips to Florida back in the 70's and I have Google Earth the address and it is just an empty paved lot now for sale. What a shame that is. I wish that I could find out more about it and a better picture than the postcard online. Have a great day -

Skateboardman,
The old Lakewood 76 was at exit 168 the Halifax exit on the west side on I-95. I typed the wrong exit # for Garysburg. It should have been #176 Route 46. The old T/A was on the east side of I-95 going north. It is now a vacant lot and I researched it a little and think it was closed and torn down because of an underground fuel leak. I could be wrong on that but I think I read it right. The old Rhodes Truck Stop was in Summerton, SC at exit #102 on southbound to the west on Route 301 before the old Lake Marion bridge. It is also a vacant lot now. Too many old stops are disappearing! -
Always wondered why it shut down after the Hurricane hit and damaged it and never reopened. I forget the exact year - sometime in the early 2000's.
There's now a Quik Trip just recently built on the frontage of the old property, but the main parking area back behind it, still sits.
