Do you really care if the Subway sandwich artist is wearing gloves or not?

Well yeah, but even potato bugs are not gross looking to OTHER potato bugs!:biggrin_25522: (Hey, I didn't chose your username for you!):biggrin_2559:

So now I'm confused. I thought it was the Tickle Me Elmo dolls that got the test tickles at the end of the production line. :biggrin_2552: I guess that blond musta got fired and went to work in the pizza factory! (Which by the way, has some of the worst pizza I've ever had.):biggrin_25511:

While your points here are valid, I was amused when I read it.

You are concerned about the old grumpy fat trucker who has gastrointestinal issues and doesn't wash his hands.

I realize that you were trying to be melodramatic and trip the "Eeeeew" factor for your readers,

But would you be less worried if the offending grunting farter, with unsatisfactory hygiene practices were a svelte young happy go lucky trucker?

What exactly does the drivers weight, age or disposition have to do with the bacterial content of his colon, or the potential for transfer of a generous helping of said bacteria on the next surface he touches?

I find it amusing that while, as truckers, we are subject to a ridiculous amount of prejudice and stereotyping, it still becomes somehow acceptable to suggest that the old heavyweight trucker, who is having a bad day, will automatically have more disgusting bacteria in his feces.

Personally, I don't care how old or young you are, how fat or skinny, how happy or grumpy, we all need to wash our hands when we are done.

It takes 20 freakin seconds to wash your hands properly when you are done answering natures call.

If you don't have time to wash your hands... If your load is that hot, your appointment that critical, then, for heavens sake, leave 20 seconds earlier next time.

    Wash your dang hands folks!

A lot of countries don't use toilet paper. They wipe with their hands then wash it off. Gross huh! Don't remember which hand but everyone uses the same one. They get completely grossed out when they see an American using that hand for stuff because they don't. I use to travel a lot for business and had to keep reminding myself so I didn't use the wrong hand. Hotels would provide toilet paper to American and other tourists.

Pretty hard to wash your hands properly and get them completely clean especially if you have finger nails. You can tell a surgeon by their hands. Fingernails trimmed way way back and no hair on their hands from all from scrubbing.

Wearing sandals in a shower does nothing at all also. You have water splashing everywhere. If you have an open cut on your feet you shouldn't be in ANY trucktop shower at ALL. There is nothing you can do other then duct tape your feet.
