Aside from the comment about a PARKED truck being pretty safe...can't hit you if it ain't moving...

Just how fast do people haul it through the parking lots that they are fearing for their lives if they hit one of us?! Tear something up, sure. Kill them? Probably not.

Shut down at a Walmart in Pontiac, IL last night. Zero dead, zero injured. Tucked my truck away in a corner towards the back of the building as far away from everything as possible. Some of the customers inside of that store at 1 a.m. did have ME feeling unsafe, though.

I personally like shutting down at a Walmart. I really hate truck stops, and I like to go into Walmart to buy fresh food to cook for dinner. Every time I shut down there, I go in and spend money. I even put my cart in the rack and my garbage in the bin.

The two Walmarts around here are total opposites of each other in terms of parking. One will tow any vehicle that sits overnight and has signs posted everywhere. The other has several "permanent residents" living out of their cars, vans, and RV's. One couple has been living in an RV on that lot for over a year. There's usually numerous folks living in old conversion vans that stay for weeks or months at a time.

That's usually the Walmart that gets my business since they treat these folks with respect by giving them a place to call "home" during a difficult time. I've never been the least bit scared being around them.

stopped at Walmart in Gardner Ks. 3/8/15 .went in an bought a few items to stock up the frig. when I came out of the store the local police was waiting on me. he told me I could not park in there parking lot. I told him if I can't park there I can't spend my money there so I will return my items. he told me I had 5 min. to leave or I will be arrested for trespassing an my truck would be towed . so I got out of there.SO GOODBYE WALMART I will never do business with you again

I would have whipped out my phone and started filming and told him that trespassing is not an arrestable offense unless you are violating a no trespass warrant or on property posted as no trespassing and unless he wanted to be on the evening news and part of a false arrest lawsuit he would be best to back off and let you finish your business as a customer

there was no, no truck parking anywhere there was regular no parking signs on some of the poles .I parked a good half a block from the building they have a big parking lot. when I went in there was 5 other trucks parked there, when I came out they were all gone . I think the local cop wanted to make a name for him self an he did at Walmart's expense . I filed a complaint at there corp. office, I will probably never hear anything from them.
