Is the whole place being torn down or is it just being gutted for rebuild?
I have been glancing over at it for the last few weeks each time I pass it.
I have not stopped at that place in years though. -
I passed there last week and I think they are taking it to the ground back in the 80's I stopped there a lot it was a good place to stop and eat and sleep.
-
I passed by there yesterday and it looked to me like the place is being razed.

Was by last week and they were seriously tearing it down. Never stopped there. I live about an hour away so never really had a need to. But always seemed like a decent large truck stop to compete with the Loves in Zanesville and the crap-tastic Pilot in Cambridge.

I used it to park one night. Sad to say it's nothing but rubble now. (though they DID take the time to chain & block the driveway, figures.)
Used to be a Greyhound stop, first time I saw it was on my way back from Driver Training/Oreintation.
I'll miss the decidedly 60's architecture, but from what I saw on the inside, probably not much else was lost.
I wouldn't mind if one of the big truck stop companies came in an re-opened it, (definately a good place for a stop) but I'd really like to see someone with an "air for flair" bring back the Jetsons deco.
