The parking fee applies to non Idle Aire spaces. It's two hours free and then they start charging OR if you can show a restuarant receipt, a travel store receipt or a shower receipt (cash), then they waive the parking fee.

Also, there were signs that said the Knights Inn, which is above the T/S is that multi-story building was offering a drivers' special one nights stay for $29.99 if you showed them your CDL.

To voice your opinions, go to the Travel Centers of America website, find the customer service page and then CALL the national customer service office.

To save time, here it is ...

    national customer service office
    Travel Centers of America

    1-888-982-5528

    They are open 24/7 ...

So, let them know what you think about being charged to park at TA Jessup, MD. Maybe that's why I see the Maryland Welcome Center in Laurel, MD off of I 95, jammed to the gills most of the time. Both northbound and southbound sections of the rest stop. The Maryland Welcome Center is about six miles south of the TA Jessup, MD.

Well hey, I just left the Jessup T/A and I'm actually still alive to talk about it.

I didn't see any lizards, homeless vagrants or anyone shooting smack in the parking lot. Of course, I was only there long enough to call a broker and go get a cup of coffee.

The parking lot was kinda filthy as well as the store in the hotel. I don't visit public restrooms so I can't tell you what shape they were in. The coffee's not bad... fresh... I hope they didn't pee in it.:biggrin_25525:

Spend the night there and then tell me what you see, or heck even go there anytime between 9pm and 3am.

HEY!!! I have an idea and will make a phone call to the Television station in Baltimore tomorrow evening and ask some questions. May get the ball rolling on that trashstop. I did in Oklshoma City TA and got the police and TA involved too. I just asked the TV people to show up at 11 PM with a CB radio and film the interior and outside while listening to the ###### tell legit people to shut the F up. I asked them to get TA execs to explain why they condoned drugs and prostitution.

You know how you have to drive around the block to get in and then out of the place, from 95? I remember one of the first times i went to this dump, there were panhandlers claiming to be homeless at 4 of the corners that you go through to get in and out of the TA. All had the same, over done costumes, and the same signs. Smelled a little..funny by the time i got to the 4th one?

They were all in the middle of the streets, decent but dirty clothes, no shoes at all, with these cardboard signs that all lookd the same and said the same thing...

Bobby Boofay's 24 hour Bum Training School? ...hm...

Also, I am extremely curious. You never go to public bathrooms? But you're a trucker? How does that work? Do you have a 15' sleeper or what?

Lol... well, public as in the bathrooms that the general public has access to. We fuel at Flying J's and their shower/bathrooms are general pretty clean. I try to schedule the three S's to happen all at the same time. But... I'd schidt in a bucket on the side of the road before I'd use a toilet in the main population. I won't even walk in there to wash my hands--I have soap and water in my truck.

As for the other... I pee in mason jars and store them in my closet like Howard Hughes. :biggrin_25525:

Ok, maybe not, but a gallon jug with a tablespoon of Campa-Chem makes a good porta-potty.
