Yeah, they changed the menu over to steak biscuits under a heat lamp. For beverages they serve 44oz containers of Mountain Dew.

The Old Stone Jiffy Mart on Route 11 (adjacent to I81), been there long before the Interstate Highway System was conceived. very small and friendly, and largely ignored because of the Flying J one exit north.

Young's was the place to be in the 40's through the 60's. Now defunct, just the building and the lot, when Route 11 was the only North/South road, it was a major player. I knew someone who grew up in the surrounding neighborhood in the 60's. He said the air was always filled with diesel smoke and the sound of air starters! (County Road 45/5, formerly Rte. 11, next to Lamb Chop Club.)

OH YA! I stopped there many times as I use to truck RT.41 alot. Also Gills in Shelburn, and Thompsons up in Terre Haute. I been told Gills is closed up but the building is still there. I don't know about Thompsons, its probably gone also because I'm talking many years ago. I knew a state trooper that was trucker friendly. He worked in the Shelburn area and always talked to the truckers on the CB. His handle on the radio was Gray Ghost. I had coffee several times with him at Gills. Happy trails! Levi39

The owner of the Lee-Hi now owns White's, Raphine, VA. The daughter of the White's heir sold it off.
