The truck stop in Jackson Ohio is excellent. Plenty of parking and the food is excellent.
Also very clean. It is A & A -
Any truck stop in any large city is just 1 giant congested truck parking lot both TA's in LA on the I- 10 are hopeless but then so is Flying J Phoenix AZ try getting a parking spot on a Friday afternoon. My favorite was Petro Sparks/Reno NV

Only good thing that comes out of CA is Fruit, Nuts and good movies.

I agree with most of you all...avoid the Gary, IN T/A at all costs. The Flying J at exit 140 off of I-65 in Indiana (near Lowell, IN) ALWAYS has room to park & the customer service is excellent. Also, the Pilot, on US-30 in Indiana is a nice stop (small...but nice).

The T/A and J in Dallas are just nasty. Lot lizards everywhere. Consantly beating on your door while you try to sleep. Overcrowded. They charge you for parking unless you spend 30 bucks or get fuel, which I usually tried to do before parking. Showers are kinda dirty and lack ventilation, so you sweat after you shower. Don't even ask about the restrooms. Anytime I had to deliver in the Dallas area, I usually tried to get to the customer early and sleep if possible.

I remember that the TA in Ontario always had flies in the shower stalls. No matter when I went. Darn critters where always there.
The Flying J in Tacoma, WA sucks. Don't bother parking there if you don't want to call your safety and claims department for hitting someone. It's THAT tight. Luckily we have a local yard nearby.
The Pilot in Dallas. If you don't have a reservation by 4pm any day of the week, find somewhere else to park. Crowded, crowded, crowded.
The list goes on. Too many crappy places to list. Either they reek of urine, or some poor soul is out pan-handling by the freeways or by the C-Stores.
"Hey man, I'm a driver and I ran out of fuel."
"Hey man, my dog lost his left testicle and needs an operation to have it replaced." The excuses go on and on and on. They usually reek of alcohol. -

Only stayed there a few times, and never again
TA in Gary, IN
Flyin J in Albuquerque, NM
it can be rough, but there are a lot of really great looking girls walking around -
I just stayed at the Seminole truck stop in Weston Florida just outside of Miami. Had no problems but it looks like a place that can get strange fast. There is some sort of club type place next door that was having "Jamaican Night." I was too tired to go check it out.
