Hello, i have to throw in my two cents....

First, I'm not a Driver, I'm 26yo, active duty army. Im Stationed on Ft Bragg. Yet i love everything about it! I want and will be when i ETS from the army in may. My Step dad was a bull hauler Bradford trucking until they went out of business. where he bought his own truck and bull hauled for another guy in amarillo, until fuel got too high. Now he delivers equipment for warren cat in Amarillo, TX. While he was Driving he won 1st place in the company class(bradford), and he placed fairly high a few times in the Make a wish truck show in amarillo, tx.

So what? while he was driving his own truck it was always Polished. and YEP i did most of the polishing. Ive used about everything on the market. The reality is that polish in paste form is, atleast when it comes to polishing a truck, worthless. Mothers, blue majic, and 3M make a paste form polish that is great for bikers, and some show cars. Because it wont run and get on things that you don't want it on. When it comes to the cloth form of polish like neverdull, they have a great use for guys that are polishing household things like china, brass knickknacks, brass instruments because they are so lightly abrasive and you don't need a rag or eat threw the light layers into the base materials. When it comes to polishing a truck there is allot of surface area, often foreign contaminates (tar, grease, dirt, etc.), and primarily your working with aluminum, so you want something that is

THIN (so it don't gum up the rag).
FAST (because you have allot of surface area to get threw)
DEGREASSING (to cut off the foreign road grime).
LONG LASTING AND PROTECTIVE (because your truck isn't sitting in a showroom, china cabnet, or garage.) your beating it up and down the highway.

That leaves you with a few options white diamond, and zeyphr are both good polishes.
The point of all that is that "baking soda and water" IS A SCAM if you were ignorant enough to buy it i feel for you. YET! Not all of the polish that guys at the fuel rail try to sell you is a scam.
If someone trys to sell you polish... do these things...
    1. Smell of it.. if it has ammonia in it don't buy it. While ammonia is found in many polishes, and works. It isn't necessary, and it will cause premature ageing, erosion, and weather pitting. Because it pulls the zinc out of the aluminum.
    2. Smell of it.. if it smells like Naphtha. Or lighter fluid... its HIGHLY FLAMMABLE and it will break down any sealing agents that may or may not have been put in it. Meaning it wont last.
    3. have them DEMONSTRATE IT IN A UNNOTICABLE PLACE. To make sure it isn't TOO ABRASSIVE. Leaving swiril marks or scratches in the metal.
    4. don't fall for baking soda and water... Smell it..
The reason that im telling yall this and had to give my two cents. Is because on the weekends 4 day weekend or when I have the time I do sell polish out at the truck stop out on 95 by ft bragg. Because I don't want to be kicked off of this forum for advertising. But some, maybe not many, in fact probably few people that go out to the truck stop are stand up people.... Or aren't just trying to scam you... possibly some, like me do have a legitimate and up class product. Mine is at least. Ive used it for years, on ALLOT of trucks. Its thin, WAX BASED!!!!, contains only one of the ingredients that have been mentioned, and will out last anything on the market. Personally guaranteed. The closest thing to mine is GORDS. And yet mine is still faster, and lasts about a third longer.
Bottom line... not everyone that trys to sell you polish at the truck stop is trying to sell you baking soda and water. And hopefully now yall all know what to lookfor. Good luck..

The best polisher ever was the Tucson polisher across the street from the triple TTT. Not there anymore though
