| I leased a truck (16 months) from Prime. Finished the lease and used the 'bonus' as a downpayment on my new truck (see my previous posts). If you go that route, be sure to do your research and know what you are getting into. I like Prime; but the deal on the truck is a deal with the devil. If I had to do it again, I would. But, like I said, know what your getting into.

Thank you so much Slick...we will definatly be careful. See my husband went to England trucking school...not on purpose either...well it's a long story, but now he is stuck with them. He's barely starting his RTO training. I told him not to go with their lease. and he didn't. But in the long run he wants to purchase a truck. We are new to all this trucking stuff. I'm glad I have people like you to give us advise. We will look into Prime as well. Thanks again

I would stay away from Lease deals all together. You are basicly just paying the company to drive a company truck. In most cases you dont even own the truck at all and just incure the expenses of driving it while giving up your company benifits like health and 401k. What you need to look for is something sometimes refered to as "Assist to Buy" like Schnieder and MCT and the such. Thats what I am looking into. Seems to be programs that act more like a co-signer would credit wise, but you actually own the truck. Then they watch you like a hawk and provide success classes and such.

Ya, I did. So far so good. Its not your normal company. It has many little companies that have far different equipment, pay, and regulations. Look for me to add a post of what I have seen with them in the Midwest post.

Decent company Well since you asked I'll give my 2 cents worth. In your situation I think Schneider would be a good choice. After about 1 year when you get familiar with their system you can go to the % of revenue system and if you have good business sense you will make good money.

You went to work for Wendell Wood right? He is a good man as are most everyone else I ever knew or dealt with over there. Hope it works out for you. I've heard that they have changed their operations considerably in the eight years that I've been gone, but I would think that they are still a pretty good company. I stop in their yard once or twice a year when I go through Sioux Fallsand say hello to some of the people in the office that I got to know and love over the years that I was there.
