What is the correct process for buying a truck?

What is the correct procedure when buying a truck? Should one secure financing first, and then pick a truck, or pick out the truck first, and then finance it?

The reason I ask is that I can't get a truck from selectrucks - the reason I wanted to get one from them is that there would be a warranty included. So, now that I will be forced to get financing probably from somewhere other than the place where I will be buying, I won't be able to get any warranty outside of what's left on the manufacturers warranty, if any, right?

Just looking for some advice on what to do. I got approved by Landstar yesterday. I am going to get a truck even if I have to empty my worthless 401(k). I am going to be an owner operater one way or the other, I hope. I just need to get a truck.

if ya have anu volvo dealerships around go to them, they use several different finance companys and will get ya the best deal. if ya can get one of there used select trucks it will come with a warranty. i have heard from others on here about Selecttrucks that there not good to wirk with unless yer a big company.
