On Friday the 10th just a couple of day ago I bought a 2006 Volvo 670 from Truck Country in Wilmer, TX. Purchased it for $34500, which I got a business loan from GE, but I paid $2045 down payment. It is a nice truck but after I purchased it the check engine light went on. I though nothing major. So, I drove it to little rock, AR that is about 346 miles from Wilmer, TX. The temperature got higher, but not to the red line. So, I stopped immediately. I realized that there was no antifreeze. Once I fulled the tank with antifreeze, there was a big leak on the block, So, after hours of researching I found a crack i block which they (dealer I think) tried to put some junk to stop the leak and it did for few minutes, because I checked the truck everywhere for leaks before purchasing it. Now I am screwed, the truck need new engine, I will try to return it back to dealer on monday the 12th, but not sure what to do. No truck, no down payment, a screwed-up credit history. Can someone please give me advise. The truck was sold AS-IS without Warranty. Thanks Peter

wow, what a nightmare. I have no idea what to do, other than hire a lawyer. Did you get any warranty at all?

Lawyer up! With no warranty and no buyers assurance - the dealer will not take any responsibility. If they have their own shop- they might offer you discount on parts/labor.

Dont do the lawyer thing first. Try talking to the dealer. If you get a lawyer they will have to go through your lawyer and thiers. It will drag on for a long time. Be nice and talk to the dealer first might be surprised at what you get. If that dont work get a lawyer.

Not sure if it would do any good but, I would call GE first thing Monday morning. Let them know you got sold a lemon and maybe they can renig on the loan from the dealer. I have seen it done before. You should have taken that truck to a mechanic to have it inspected. A ounce of prevention will save a pound of headaches.

    Don't hold your breath. They'll say as-is means as-is, take a hike.

some places do have a law which gives something like a 72 hour remorse clause--the dealer wont tell you that tho
