My husband was in an accident while driving a company dump truck. He rear-ended two vehicles after they stopped quick in front of him. The truck was not insured and his boss is only willing to pay for the second vehicle the one the truck actually made contact with. He hasn't payed for either one to date.
The state of WA where the accident happened is threatening to pull my husband's driver's license. We're really not sure what to do. NY DMV says they can legally pull his licence.

Why was he driving a trk. with no insurance?

Better duck and weave as the lawyers will be after him as well.
He was at fault for rear ending the cars and thus driving with no insurance.
Say goodbye to his driving career

I would say, Yes. Now if your boss gave him a counterfeit insurance certificate that claimed he had valid insurance. The best advice I could give in this situation. Get a Attorney involved. Since his boss did not have insurance, it is very possible the vehicles involved will sue him along with his boss. If your husband cares any ioda of his CDL, he will contact some legal assistance immediately.

If you don't trust the card given to you to carry in your truck, you're allowed to call the carrier to verify the insurance anytime you'd like!...I would also think if you can show the company gave you ins. info and it turns out to be false or lapsed, you'd be off the hook but I'd call a lawyer before taking that advise to the bank...

Insurance can be verified by law enforcement (or anyone, for that matter) by searching the DOT# here:

    http://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov/LIVIEW/pkg_html.prc_limain

Takes a second or two. You can verify real quick whether or not your employer has valid insurance.
