That isn't what I said...I said if your state of origin and state of destination both allow firearms in vehicles then you can have the firearm in your vehicle passing through states on your route. I think the law on that is Safe Harbor. Carrying one on your person is completely different...if you are licensed to carry and leave the state that issued the license, the state you entered either has to honor the issueing state or you have to have a license in the state to be able to have the firearm on your person.

Concealed is concealed. Sometimes it is tough to balance your 2nd Amendment rights VS. the right to work. You may be fired for carrying on their property. This is a personal decision. IF you ever get "made" on property that is NOT .gov, and you refuse to leave, this is where the trouble starts. A possible misdemeanor trespassing charge will be made.

I have 4 guns in my truck

I have no plans on commiting a crime with my firearms, so I don't care if they chase my IP addy. THis is one of the problems in dealing with things that go boom. Guns are tools, they cannot operate themselves.

You do not need to be permitted in every state you travel through. I have a ccw issued in Ohio. I now live in NC and my Ohio permit is accepted and legal. However, it is wise to do your homework thoroughly before carrying anywhere ccw or not.

The best advise I was given by law enforcement was as follows

As far as shippers go, out of site out of mind is probably a good approach. I have never been searched at any shipper/receiver in my 18 years. Even chemical plants with above average security. Now the one reason I have for not carrying is this. I cannot guarantee the securement of my weapon at all times, such as meal stops, showers ect... Most truckstop thieves who see you leaving with shaving kit or duffle bag know they have 30 minutes to an hour to go through your truck. I am leaning more towards responsibly carrying and keeping a low profile. I'd rather lose my CDL than my life.

Not sure how it is in the State that you live in, but if you are licensed in the State of Texas and get pulled over, you are supposed to notify the officer. And once they run your Drivers License, they will know.
