I received a seat belt violation ($120 f**king dollars) in Terre Haute. The day to pay is closely approaching and they will not grant an extension over the phone so I'm facing suspension (just in Indiana I think). Other drivers say just let it go and pay it when I can since it's just a seat belt ticket. I'm a resident of Wisconsin and we don't share reciprocity with Indiana so I was wondering if what they said about not worrying holds any weight.

I already had it impact my CSA. I'm just wondering if an Indiana county court had the power to suspend my license in Wisconsin as well. Or if just my driving rights in Indiana are suspended.

Too cheap a ticket to hire a lawyer, just pay. Either way, deal with it. And move on.
Don't forget to buckle up.pattyj Thanks this. -
I dont think they do but i do not k ow for sure -
I plan on paying it, no question about that. It's just a matter of having the extra money to do so. I'm just wondering if I'll be suspended in Wisconsin as well or just Indiana. And I usually do wear my seat belt, the ####### caught me as I was turning out of the shippers parking lot.

CSA points aren't administered by any State. They are DOT (Federal). Welcome to Commercial Driving.

If you fight it they'll set a further date buying you more time. You can always lose later, then you still have to pay. It's not like you'd lose anything by fighting it. Good chance the cop doesn't show up. Simple request to have it dropped by the prosecute over the phone works. It's legal land, where any things possible.
