Hello to everyone, I'm new here and hoping I'm posting this in the right section. Any who my father who has been a linehaul driver for FedEx freight for 15 years recently had an accident due to the air valve on his lead trailer locking up. It was raining hard and he said all of a sudden the truck jerked hard to the left and pulled him across the shoulder of the road. He said he got it gathered back up but all he remembered was hearing the brakes locking up and chattering. It shot the whole unit across two lanes of traffic and played the unit on its side and facing southbound, he was running north. My question is he was charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain, all of which he beat in court due to the mechanic witnesses that worked on the trailer to prove it was the valve that locked the trailer up. FedEx fired him immediately did no investigation and now he has no job. Granted he has to have surgery to repair his shoulder due to the accident. But my question is does he have a valid lawsuit against these idiots at fedex?? And did they have the right to fire him without an investigation..even though he was proven innocent in court? Thank you for all your advice!!

He needs a good lawyer who knows his/her way around commercial vehicle laws.

Any feedback on here, outside of a lawyer recommendation is unqualified.

Best of luck to your dad! Hope he lands on his feet.

Thank you, and yes he plans to get a good lawyer to fight this. He feels out of place not working and is not real sure how to handle all of this.
