I am a real estate appraiser and I am appraising a distribution warehouse. There is an overhead rail crossing with a 14'8" clearance at the entrance. What clearance do most distribution type trucks have? Does that impose a difficulty for many trucks? (I have seen a few trucks trying to make a U Turn just before the railroad crossing.

    Thank you for your help

13'6 or less should be typical of 90% of all trucks on the roads. That is the height of a typical highway tractor pulling a 53 foot van. Hope this helps.

In western states where the height limit is 14' its probably a lot more than that.

14'8 is high for an overheight truck, isn't it? If a drivers load is that tall,he should have a pilot car with a pole. But then, maybe you handle giraffes??
