| Just because you applied and recieved an Arkansas CDL doesn't relieve you from obligations in other states. There is a big data base on CMV drivers, each state follows federal guidelines,so you can run,but you can't hide.Under California law your license can be suspended for not paying child support. You can find the statute at the California DMV website. When you get there,in the search box, type in 11350.6.Hit the first link and you will find the law or topic on this subject. It's under "Welfare and institutions code".So how to fix this you might ask?Contact Social services, pay the child support. After that contact the DMV.Once they have proof that you are current on payments they will reinstate your license.Might be some extra charges, but try to clear it up before it gets out of hand.Your wages may look good now but after a child welfare agency garnishes your wages for non payment they won't be that great. You need your CDL to make a living and your kids need support.Good luck to you. If you ARE behind on Court Ordered child-support....WHY? Pay it and KEEP it paid. There is NO EXCUSE for dead-beat dads (or moms). If you OWE child support and are behind, the State where it is ordered has the legal right to suspend ANY license you possess, DL/CDL/CPA/Lawyer/Contractor/plumber....etc. I would suggest you DO NOT drive until you get it cleared up. DO NOT simply rely on your employer, having been "shut-down" in Oregon has already been recorded on your MVR (or will soon be). Next time, there may be HARSH penalties, to YOU and your employer.

| As a former federal special agent I guess it tends to make me conservative in many areas. But I've been married to the same lady since 1966, even before I began flying off a bird farm in the South China Sea in a place called Vietnam. Even if two people can't get along and divorce I fail to find sympathy for someone that won't/can't/doesn't pay their child support. You brought them into this world. You should therefore be responsible enough to take care of them. Legally and morally there is no excuse so great that a state must take actions against an individual for failure of this type. Perhaps I grew up in a different generation though where, if we made a mistake, we admitted it and took care of it. |

Not to argue with you, in fact I agree. However, a friend of mine has an exwife who moved to California. He paid all of the child support directly to her as dictated in the divorce in Texas. Now, the State of California is coming after him for the child support. Not the wife. The child is over 18 and everything was paid. But since the records show that nothing was paid through the courts, they are suing for the money. They have made 3 attempts over several years. |

| You mean he didn't pay through the courts??????????????? Need I respond. My brother paid directly once. He ended up paying it twice as well. Where in Illinois Roadmedic? |

Exactly, the divorce is about 20 years ago and she moved several times before settling there. California has alot of their own rules. |
